Privacy & cookies

This site is a single page with a waitlist. This notice covers everything it collects, which is not much.

What runs on this site

ServiceWhat it doesCookiesRuns when
Plausible Counts page views in aggregate — pages, referrers, country, device type. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal data, no profile of you. None Always
Google Analytics
(via Google Tag Manager)
Measures how the site is found and used. Sets cookies and sends data to Google. Yes Only with your consent in the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland. Elsewhere it runs by default and you can switch it off.
Cloudflare Hosts and serves the site, and protects it from attack. Processes your IP address to deliver the page and keep logs for security. None set by us Always — it is how the page reaches you

We run no advertising tags, and we sell nothing to anyone. Advertising storage is switched off at the tag level regardless of what you choose below.

Your cookie choices

In the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics stays off until you accept it. Everywhere else it runs by default and you can turn it off at any time. We honour the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out.

Your choice is remembered in your browser. You can change it whenever you like:

The waitlist

If you give us your email address, we store it — along with the time, the country your request came from, and the page you came from — in a private Google Sheet, so we can tell you when æther opens up. We use it for that and nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone outside the services listed above.

Ask us to remove you at privacy@aether.film and we will delete the row.

Why we are allowed to do this

Under the GDPR, where it applies:

Where the data goes

We are a US company, so data reaches the United States. Google and Cloudflare are also US companies and both operate globally. Plausible is EU-based and stores its data in the EU.

How long we keep it

Waitlist entries: until you ask us to delete them, or until the waitlist has served its purpose. Plausible holds only aggregate counts, which identify nobody. Google Analytics retention follows Google's own settings. Cloudflare's security logs are short-lived.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Write to privacy@aether.film and we will answer. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

We will update this page as the site grows — the waitlist is the first thing it does, and it will not be the last. The date at the top is when it last changed.
